Custom Courseware Development

Process  

We use the classics of course development strategies in our design of custom or off the shelf training for your organization.  Our development steps include:

Development of behavioral objectives
We determine what the student will be able to do following the training experience. These objectives are stated using action verbs to described the desired actions and have standards describing the level of performance required.

Development of knowledge based objectives
Determine what the student should know following the training experience. While not action oriented, these objectives often are measured by tests and practical exercises.

Objective validation
Once the objectives are developed, they are evaluated by subject matter experts and management to assure they meet organizational performance requirements.  Once the objectives are determined, a training evaluation strategy is proposed.

Develop time/module based outline
Following the objective development phase, a plan is developed showing the subjects to be taught and the time dedicated to each subject.

Outline validation
Again, the subject matter experts and management evaluate the outline and timeline for compliance to organizational requirements.

Detailed lecture/lab outlines
Detailed outlines provide the supporting documentation for course development. These outlines are often detailed enough to enable writing the courseware without additional resources.

Detailed outline validation
A thorough review validates the details of the course.

Courseware Development
Now the course is written. The courseware will include a trainee manual, lab manuals, instructor guide, supporting audio-video materials and student evaluation materials.

Course Trial
The course trial will validate the classroom fitness of the materials. A final tuning and the course is ready for rollout.
